What to expect at the Facial Recovery Clinic

    • Understanding what led to facial palsy and facial nerve injury and current issues

    • Understanding and documenting past medical history

    • Physical exams are performed (Virtually-client provides self monitoring information blood pressure and heart rate at visit)

    • Investigations may be ordered, for example: blood work, CT, MRI and nerve conduction studies

    • Prescribing medication that may be required

    • Referrals to specialists as needed (Ears, Nose & Throat (ENT), neurologist, neuro-ophthalmologist, physiotherapist, audiologist, or speech-language therapist (SLP))

    • Coordinating complex treatments of care

    • Provide ongoing communication with primary care provider (NP/ MD)

    • Reviewing updates or changes since the last visit

    • Physical exams performed (unable to perform for Virtual appointments)

    • Reviewing investigations

    • Discussing treatment plans and asking questions

    • Coordinating complex treatments of care

    • Provide ongoing communication with primary care provider (NP/ MD) and specialist

    Botox for facial paralysis: Facial palsy can bring about tightness, facial asymmetry and involuntary muscle movement that affects every aspect of life. At Facial Recovery, we offer a simple yet highly effective solution: Botox or Botulinum toxin. Consent for treatment before appointment is required.

  • If you are not confident communicating in English, it is advised that you be accompanied by someone who can translate for you.
